To earn Mother's Gifts in Diablo 4, you need to defeat "powerful servants of Hell" including Elites, Champions, Hellborne, and Bosses for them to drop, so to maximize your progress you're looking for methods to reach large numbers of those enemies quickly. At World Tiers 1 and 2, the fastest way to earn Mother's Gifts in Diablo 4 is to participate in Legion Events, so keep an eye out for them appearing on the map as they provide a large number of Elite enemies plus three Bosses to defeat. Although not quite as efficient, you can also earn Mother's Gifts by taking part in Diablo 4 Helltide events when they appear, by heading to areas marked on the map with a red coloring and slaying your way through the various monsters that spawn there.

If you've made significant progress and want to up your game, then at World Tiers 3 and 4, the fastest way to earn Mother's Gifts in Diablo 4 is to participate in Infernal Hordes. This content unlocks in World Tier 3 after completing the seasonal questline, and involves surviving increasingly difficult waves of enemies until your reach the final showdown with the Fell Council, consisting of corrupted priests with unique attacks.

You can also increase your chances of additional Mother's Gifts in Diablo 4 with one of the Season Blessings, so you should allocate the Smouldering Ashes you unlock with your Season progress to the Urn of the Blessed Mother. Each Urn of the Blessed Mother level you activate gives a 10% boost to the chance of additional Mother's Gifts dropping from the sources listed above, and these stack to a maximum boost of +40% at Level 4.

Istel of the Mother's Triune is found in Zarbinzet, a city to the west side of the Hawezar region, and this contains a portal that you can activate if it isn't already powered up to get there quickly using Diablo 4 fast travel. Once there, you can speak to her to see your current Mother's Gift Rank and how far you've progressed towards the next level, then in the lower section you can claim any of the Diablo 4 Mother's Gift rewards you've unlocked so far. These are divided into 20 tiers as follows:

This varies by format, but to dive you should press Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or Y on Nintendo Switch. Although you can dive from a standing position, if you jump forward and then press the dive button you'll travel further, which can help you clear gaps and land on platforms you'd otherwise fall short of.

Where We Fallin'? Fortnite Quests in Chapter 5 Season 3

If you're working your way through the Where We Fallin'? Fortnite quests, then these are the actions you need to complete to clear all of them with the relevant PlayStation / Xbox / Nintendo Switch buttons:

  • Run (250) - Just keep moving around
  • Mantle (1) - Jump (X / A / B) towards a ledge while holding the jump button
  • Dive (3) - Press Square / X / Y
  • Bounce (5) - Land on bounce pads
  • Emote (2) - Tap Down on the d-pad
  • Finish (1) - Reach the end of the obstacle course within the time limit

<![CDATA[ Fortnite Bean Idols: Where to find them and play Fall Guys ]]> Fortnite Bean Idols represent the long-awaited arrival of Fall Guys in the battle royale, and by interacting with them you can teleport to the obstacle course floating high above the island to start the Fall Guys challenge. While this provides a fun mini-game to take part in, there's more to it than that as there are also a set of Where We Fallin'? quests to complete, plus finishing the obstacle course will reward you with a selection of weapons and items to provide a boost for the rest of the match. Where to find Bean Idols in Fortnite

There are a total of six Fortnite Bean Idols available, which look like large statues of a Fall Guys bean holding aloft a crown. They are dotted around the lake to the east of Classy Courts which has the Fall Guys challenge course floating above it, and I've marked all of their locations on the map above. If you're gliding towards that area from above then you can see golden beams of light shining up from each of the Bean Idols.

To start the Fall Guys challenge at Bean Idols in Fortnite, you just need to approach one of these statues then interact and follow the prompt. Note that if you arrive when other players have already started competing in the Fall Guys challenge, then a counter will appear near the statue's crown showing how many of them are in there. If this reaches 8 out of 8 and turns red then you won't be able to access the challenge, and will get a message saying "The obstacle course is too full of beans, try again soon!" instead. If this is the case then you'll need to wait around the area for the player count to drop, then quickly interact with the Bean Idol before someone else takes your place.

Once you use one of the Fortnite Bean Idols to teleport up to the Fall Guys challenge, you'll be turned into a bean and let loose on the floating obstacle course. There are a number of easy Fortnite quests you can complete here by taking various actions such as diving, jumping, and bouncing, so make sure you take full advantage of your time here to rack them up – if you're not sure what you're doing, then here's how to dive in Fortnite Fall Guys. If you don't manage to complete the course or you quit out, you can revisit one of the Bean Idols to try again, and you get up to three attempts per match to finish it.

Keep an eye on the clock at the top of the screen during the Fall Guys challenge in Fortnite, as this counts down through gold, silver, and bronze award times. Once you complete the challenge by reaching the crown at the end of the assault course, you'll then glide back down to the battle royale island with a cute Pegwin in tow – once you land, this will automatically open like a chest and spill out a selection of rewards, with the quality of the weapons and items you receive based on whether you achieved a gold, silver, or bronze award time.

<![CDATA[ How to find and kill the Helldivers 2 Impalers ]]> The Impalers in Helldivers 2 are Terminid bosses coming back from the first game, huge creatures similar to Chargers, but bigger and more static, with heads that open up and send three huge tentacles into the ground - only for them to pop up and try and attack the players.

Added as part of the Helldivers 2 Escalation of Freedom, fighting an Impaler can be tricky for players who aren't used to them. Unless you have the kind of heavy artillery used to bring down tanks, you'll struggle to crack their armor, and instead have to find their weakness - but don't worry, they do have one. Below we'll explain how to beat Impalers in Helldivers 2, as well as how to find them in the first place if you want to test your mettle against these huge bugs.

How to kill Impalers in Helldivers 2

Impalers in Helldivers 2 are huge Terminids that you can kill by shooting them in the face when they open up their armor, putting their tendrils in the ground. They look like Chargers - at least until they attack you. Tending to stand still and move around very little, Impalers instead unfurl three tentacles from their head and bury them in the ground, whereupon they tunnel out near the players and try to stab them. 

This means that Impalers are really formed of two parts - a static, unthreatening main body, and the much more mobile, dangerous tendrils. Their weakness is their head - when they deploy the tendrils, this opens up the armor plating on their face and leaves them vulnerable and exposed, at least while the tentacles are still trying to impale you. I found that four shots to the unprotected head with the Autocannon was enough to kill them.

Admittedly, you don't have to wait that long. Though covered in armor, you can still use heavy-duty Stratagems like the Commando and Orbital Laser to damage the Impaler even when its face is covered.

Even when far away from the Impaler, the Tentacles are very dangerous as they can still reach you. You need to watch out for rumbling sections of ground that they erupt out of - it's enough to kill players in a single shot. The moment they're up, back away as fast as possible while focusing damage on one tentacle at a time, forcing it to retract - and be ready to throw yourself to the side to avoid getting stabbed.

How to find Impalers in Helldivers 2

Impalers show up as boss Terminids on missions of Hard (5) or higher. Players can find missions to eliminate Impalers at this difficulty in certain Terminid worlds, which involves hunting down and slaying two of them (they'll be somewhere random within the marked area on your map, often making low bellowing noises that can help you home in on them).

<![CDATA[ Helldivers 2 TR-40 Golden Eagle armor explained ]]> The Helldivers 2 TR-40 Golden Eagle armor was given away as Steam's equivalent of a Twitch drop, but this streaming reward is now available for everyone as a part of the Escalation of Freedom update. But is it any good? Let's take a look at what it does and if it's worth taking into battle. 

Is the Helldivers 2 Golden armor good? 

The short answer here is yes. The HD2 Golden Eagle armor is a yellow-coloured medium set with an "Extra Padding" buff - which means it provides the protection of heavy armor only with the stamina/speed penalties of medium armor. 

While there's not much more to it than that, it's a pretty good extra. Especially on a freeset of armor. In practice I really noticed the extra beating I could take without being in any real danger. Several times I checked my health after ricocheting from one explosion to another, expecting to be in trouble and need healing, only to realise I was absolutely fine. It's going to take a little more testing before I'm ready to abandon my beloved DP-40 Hero of the Federation medium armor (50% chance not to die when taking lethal damage) but I've felt no immediate urge to switch back just yet which is a good sign. 

The TR-40 Golden Eagle armor was originally available 48 hours early for Steam players if you watched at least ten minutes of a Steam stream explaining the new update. That was tied to the account watching the livestream so for Steam players only, and the developers did warn that high traffic could mean delays in the armor being added to your game inventory in that early window. However, at this point everyone should have it after it was added as part of the Escalation of Freedom update.

<![CDATA[ All new enemies in Helldivers 2 ]]> Helldivers 2's new enemies include the Impaler, Spore Charger, Terminid Alpha Commander and a Rocket Tank, all added as part of the most recent update. You'll need some new strategies to deal with some of these, especially the Impaler itself, which is heavily armored but leaves itself vulnerable at key moments that need to be exploited to best effect.

Basically, there's a lot going on in the Helldivers 2 Escalation of Freedom update. We'll go through everything you need to know about them in our guide to all the new enemies in Helldivers 2 below, as well as how to bring them down.

These are all the new enemies that have been added as part Helldiver's new update, Escalation of Freedom.

There's also been some unspecified allusion from Sony and developer Arrowhead to there also being some "other bot surprises", but it's not clear what they'll be or even if they're new additions to the Helldivers 2 enemies list at all - perhaps just new weapons or defences for the already-established Automaton enemies to use against the Helldivers.

Below we'll go through each of the enemies in turn, so players feel prepared for them when they appear in the new update.

Impaler

The Terminid Impaler is a returning enemy from the first Helldivers game, a series of spiked tentacles that rise up from the ground and attempt to stab nearby players. We've already got a guide on Helldivers 2 Impalers and how to beat them here, but if you want a less detailed version of that info: all Impalers have a large, armored body from which the tentacles originate, and when those tentacles are deployed, it leaves the face vulnerable and uncovered - your chance to do serious damage to it.

Spore Charger

The Spore Charger is a new variant of the classic Helldivers 2 Chargers. If getting run over by an insectoid rhinoceros wasn't bad enough before, these new versions produce a cloud of fog that makes it hard to see them until they're in very close range. The best approach to these menaces are flamethrowers, which are designed for close-range and low accuracy. It also means that the incendiary-themed Helldivers 2 Freedom's Flame Warbond will do a lot to help players out.

Terminid Alpha Commander

The Terminid Alpha Commander is another variant of an existing enemy. The standard Brood Commander in Helldivers 2 is a big bug that can survive for short periods without a head and summon Warriors to immediately assist. The Alpha Commander is a "supercharged" version of that - bigger, meaner and quicker to call in other bugs for backup. These are best fought with straightforward heavy weapons - they don't really have a gimmick like the Impaler, so just blow them to kingdom come as fast as possible. At higher difficulties, these Alphas entirely replace the regular Commanders, making the bugs a bit tougher to deal with.

There are already a couple of variants of Helldivers 2 Tanks in game - the Shredder and Annihilator - but the Helldivers 2 Automatons now have a third variant on the field; the Rocket Tank, or Barrager. This one has a battery of missiles built-in that fire high, arcing shots - effectively turning it into a portable Mortar. 

Thankfully, you can take them down like any other Tank - with heavy, destructive firepower, like Orbital Stratagems and missile launchers, or careful targeting of the heat vent at the back, their glowing weak point.

A celebration of the game's six month anniversary, the Escalation of Freedom update is free for all to play, so it's worth understanding what's available in it. For those who want to know, we've got everything that's been added all listed below.

Below we've got all the major changes that have been added to Helldivers 2 as part of the Escalation of Freedom update, though there are plenty of minor alterations too. Those who want the full details can find them at the official patch notes.

  • New Enemies: Several Helldivers 2 new enemies have been added: the Impaler, Spore Charger and Terminid Alpha Commander for the Bugs, and the Rocket Tank and "other bot surprises" for the Automatons. The Impaler in Helldivers 2 is an entirely unique enemy returning from the first game - a charger-like creature that sends aggressive tentacles into the ground to attack players - while the others are altered variants of existing foes already in the game.
  • Super Helldive Difficulty: The Helldivers 2 difficulties now go all the way to 10, with the addition of the incredibly hard "Super Helldive" option.
  • New Mission and Objective Types: A "Larva Retrieval" secondary objective allows players to capture a baby bug, while hunting Impalers is now its own mission type. On the Automatons' side, a new secondary objective has players attack Human Processing Plants - yuck.
  • Bigger Enemy Outposts: Both Bugs and Bots now have larger outposts on the map, more challenging and heavily defended, requiring high skill and coordination to take down. However, they have the high-value Super Samples within them - the motivation to break into these high-risk enemy encampments.
  • New Swamp Biome: Of the many landscapes found on different planets around the galaxy, now there's also a creepy Swamp biome in play, with dead trees and low light levels to deal with.
  • Rules to mitigate Grief-Kicking: Helldivers 2 now includes new mechanics and systems to stop players from "grief-kicking," the practice of kicking somebody out of a game just to upset them or driven by poor sportsmanship. To help alleviate the issue, Arrowhead now has kicked players "spawn into a new session as the host with all of the team’s loot from their previous session", so nobody loses loot.
  • Quality of Life Changes: Various changes to the UI and Social Menu make Helldivers 2 both easier to understand and utilize.
  • Weapon and Stratagem balances: Several weapons and Stratagems have been altered for the sake of rebalancing. Among them, the Incendiary Breaker is now weaker, and the Explosive Crossbow is now a one-handed weapon.
  • New Warbond: Though technically not a part of the update a new Warbond went live 48 hours after the Escalation of Freedom. This new Helldivers 2 Freedom's Flame Warbond adds a range of fire based weapons, armor and extras, so check out that guide for the full details.

They're not game-breakingly devastating combos, but can add some really useful benefits, making good characters great, or great characters even better. For example, Thor lends some of his thunderous power to Storm, while Rocket Raccoon can help the Punisher with a deployable weapon-buffing device. Here's what you need to know about how Marvel Rivals Team-Ups work and which ones are best.

While you don't have to build your team around these Team-Up powers, having one that benefits a couple of your teammates can be a huge help, especially if they're playing some of the best Marvel Rivals characters. Here are the best Team-Up powers in Marvel Rivals:

  • Ammo Overload: Punisher and Rocket Raccoon are two of the best characters in the game, and this Team-Up makes Punisher even more brutal.
  • Voltaic Bond: Thor might not be the best Vanguard character out there, but Storm is definitely one of the best Duelists, so the that she gains an entirely new ability from the Thunder God's presence is a huge boon.
  • Symbiote Bond: Venom and Spider-Man are both excellent heroes, and with Spider-Man's efficacy relying on the player making good use of his combos, having an extra ability to draw on thanks to the symbiote is a great help. The benefit is also a nice boost for Peni Parker if enemies get a bit too close to her and don't get caught in her traps.

As mentioned, Team-Up powers let certain characters gain benefits if they're joined by a relevant hero. These Team-Ups typically benefit just one hero, either giving them a passive benefit, such as extra damage with certain abilities, or grant them entirely new abilities. These extra abilities also have quite long cooldowns, so they can't be spammed. Here's how all the Team-Ups in the Marvel Rivals beta work:

  • Ragnarok Rebirth - Hela + Thor/Loki: When Hela kills an enemy, she can automatically resurrect Thor and Loki if they happen to dead. If they're alive, she'll give them 100 bonus health instead. Hela gains no benefits.
  • Metallic Chaos – Scarlet Witch + Magneto: Magneto automatically gains an extra ability that temporarily powers up his greatsword with chaos magic, letting him wield it as his normal weapon, slashing enemies. Scarlet Witch receives no benefits from this Team-Up. Magneto isn’t the strongest Vanguard character, but this Team-Up can really help get into the fray more.
  • Planet X Pals – Groot + Rocket Raccoon/Jeff the Land Shark: When Rocket Raccoon or Jeff the Land Shark are near Groot, they will see a button prompt that lets them hop up on Groot's shoulders for extra damage resistance and a slightly elevated position. Only one character can do this at a time.
  • Symbiote Bond – Venom + Spider-Man/Peni Parker: Venom lends the spider-pair a bit of symbiote power, giving them expulsion abilities that cause them to turn into a mass of black spikes that damage enemies and push them back. Venom does not receive any extra power from this.
  • Gamma Charge – Hulk + Doctor Strange/Iron Man: the Hulk passively buffs Strange's Maelstrom of Madness ability and Iron Man's Armor Overdrive ability with extra damage thanks to gamma radiation.
  • Ammo Overload – Rocket Raccoon + Punisher: Rocket Raccoon gains an extra ability called the Ammo Overload Device when he's on a team with the Punisher. When deployed, the device grants only the Punisher bottomless magazines and increased fire rate when he's nearby. No other characters benefit from this device.
  • Dimensional Shortcut – Magik + Black Panther: When these heroes are on the same team, both gain the ability to cast a Limbo Disc that acts as a teleporter. Only Magik and Black Panther can teleport using their Limbo Discs.
  • Guardian Revival: Adam Warlock + Star-Lord/Mantis: Adam Warlock grants Mantis and Star-Lord his Regenerative Cocoon ability, letting them freely move as a soul and then regenerate to get back in the fight quickly. As with Adam Warlock, this ability has a long cooldown, so it doesn't activate every time either of these characters die.
  • Chilling Charisma – Luna Snow + Namor/Jeff the Land Shark: Luna Snow grants Namor and Jeff the Land Shark an extra ability that lets them power up their abilities with ice powers. Namor's Monstro summons fire more powerful projectiles while Jeff spits out chunks of high-damage ice.
  • Voltaic Union – Thor + Storm: Storm gains an extra lightning strike ability while Thor is on her side. She can fire out another lightning attack, similar to her regular ability except, this one can chain to nearby enemies too. Thor doesn't get any help from Storm, however.

<![CDATA[ Everything we know about the Starfield Shattered Space DLC ]]> The Starfield Shattered Space DLC is coming soon, and we've got details coming out all the time about what it'll include. Bethesda and Microsoft have been increasingly open with details about the expansion, especially as it's been around a year since Starfield's debut, and we know some details about what to expect already. 

On this page we've combed through all the available data that's out there concerning Shattered Space, and laid out everything we know about the Starfield DLC. Release dates, details, and more - you can find it all here, Starborn.

When is the Starfield Shattered Space release date?

Developer Bethesda has not yet confirmed a specific release date for Shattered Space, except to say that the Starfield expansion will be out Fall 2024 on both Xbox and PC. Though a 2024 release date had been certain for a while, Director Todd Howard confirmed in an interview with Kinda Funny that Shattered Space was aiming to be released in the Fall period, which makes sense - that'd place it roughly one year after the release of Starfield itself, appropriately enough. 

Admittedly, that date could still be subject to change, and it's still a large window to operate in; potentially anywhere between September and November, but we do have some idea of when to expect the expansion.

Starfield Shattered Space DLC details

Shattered Space is confirmed to be focused on House Va'ruun, one of the Starfield factions from the base game, as well as introducing at least one new location: the city of Dazra on House Va'ruun's hidden homeworld, which is still unnamed at time of writing.

The story trailer for Shattered Space shows the player first encountering strange, ethereal aliens in a dead space station, in a sequence that feels fairly horror-tinged, before journeying to a new world and speaking with the cult of Va'ruun themselves. We also see spectral figures, both seemingly in dialogue and combat alike.

What is House Va'ruun?

Established in the main game, House Va'ruun are one of the notable Starfield religions, though unlike the other faiths in that game, they're considered by most to be a dangerous cult, rather than a legitimate mainstream theology. House Va'ruun is named after its founder, Jinan Va'ruun, who claimed to have seen a cosmic being called the Great Serpent during a grav jump. The Great Serpent was apparently not only the creator of everything, but would eventually reawaken and consume the cosmos - with the exception of the faithful.

House Va'ruun are usually enemy NPCs in the core game of Starfield, and have less of a presence in the plot compared to other major factions - we never go to their headquarters, and most interactions we have with them are violent. Shattered Space looks ready to change that, offering players the chance to finally go to the city they operate from, Dazra, and speak with them directly. Whether that also turns violent will probably depend on us; it is a Bethesda game, after all.

Will there be more DLC for Starfield after Shattered Space?

Yes, at time of writing Bethesda is openly hoping to make further additions to Starfield with yearly DLC expansions and content packs. Recently we received indications that Bethesda was already planning its second DLC, and had trademarked the word "Starborn", a reference to the cosmic travellers experienced in the main game, suggesting that we could see content building on their lore in the future.

Getting Warden's Law from Nightfalls isn't easy, but it's worth pursuing if you're a Hand Cannon fan. You'll mainly want to be on the lookout for one of the potent damage perks Warden's Law can roll with in Destiny 2, but if Crucible is more your bag, there are a few good stat-boosting options that'll really enhance its performance. Here are the best rolls you can get for Warden's Law in Destiny 2.

Warden's Law PVE god rolls in Destiny 2

Warden's Law is a rare Heavy Burst archetype Hand Cannon, which means it fires two powerful shots in succession with each trigger pull. As I've said, it's not very easy as one of the Destiny 2 Nightfall weapons and the Adept version, which can use Destiny 2 Adept Mods, is locked behind the brutally tough Grandmaster difficulty. However you get your Warden's Law, these are the god roll perks you'll want to keep an eye out for:

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk 1: Demolitionist
  • Perk 2: Adrenaline Junkie
  • Origin: Choose Vanguard's Vindication
  • Masterwork: Stability
  • Mod: Choose Backup Mag, Adept Mag, or Adept Reload

Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie are a match made in heaven for Warden's Law and it's definitely the best perk combination for PVE, helping you spam grenades and amp up the damage of Warden's Law by a third! Enlightened Action or Perpetual Motion are perhaps the only other worthy Demolitionist replacements, but neither can beat the gun-and-grenade synergy. Similarly, Rampage is a close second place to Adrenaline Junkie for me when it comes to the Perk 2 slot. It offers the same damage buff, but it lacks the grenade synergy.

The Heavy Burst Hand Cannon archetype might not be to everyone's taste, but it's pretty punchy and can be great in the right hands. Luckily, Warden's Law can roll with a few perks that are perfectly suited to the Crucible too, so this roll will help you take down fellow Guardians, but you should decide whether you want to pursue range or stability – Adept Mods will really help with boosting one of these stats too. Here's what I recommend for PVP:

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk 1: To The Pain
  • Perk 2: Kill Clip or Zen Moment
  • Origin: Choose Vanguard's Vindication
  • Masterwork: Range or Stability
  • Mod: Choose Backup Mag, Adept Range, or Adept Stability
